In Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Chapter 253, Maki and Sukuna carry on the ridiculous battle between the two. Maki, in pushing them to her limits, Sukuna’s overwhelming offer ruined her a few times with strategic attacks and blew her power. Though she butts her considerable skill against it, Sukuna’s brutality is clear: she is put down with a crushing shot leaving Maki injured.

The chapter also introduces a potential new challenger to Sukuna: Kusakabe. When Maki goes flying, Kusakabe comes in, perhaps prepared for a fight with the King of Curses. His appearance only serves to increase the intrigue in how things are going down regarding the overall conflict, though it’s to be seen whether or not Kusakabe will be enough to threaten Sukuna.
